Bring Dad out to Fieldbrook for a cheerful afternoon of native plants and flowers in the Haggard Garden.

Pete Haggard, our local celebrity author on insects (if you haven’t got his book, Insects of the Pacific Northwest yet, you really should – it is hands down the best reference guide I’ve seen on the subject!), invites you to see what’s blooming on the longest day of the year in a native plant garden.

Pete guides his garden to be beneficial to our local wildlife and insects, and his natives are interplanted with non-native ornamentals and edibles for a garden that’s as fun for humans as it is for wildlife.

The garden is open from 1-3 and there’s a $5 suggested donation to the local chapter of the Native Plant Society. It’s limited to 12 guests each day, so call 839-0307 for reservations.
