Miller Farms Nursery in McKinleyville
EDIT: IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT MILLER FARMS, THEIR NUMBER IS 839-1571. I AM NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH THIS NURSERY. (BEEN GETTING A FEW CALLS A WEEK FOR THE NURSERY SO I WANTED TO BE CLEAR!)
Miller Farms Nursery is a fantastic nursery for anything you need, from plants, vegetable seeds and starts, pottery, to all kinds of neat tools, organic and traditional fertilizers, plus garden-related gifts for your favorite gardener.
They have one of the biggest selections in Humboldt County, and hire knowledgeable help so that you get the advice you need. They do carry bulk mulches, so if you have a truck you can save money on your chips and shredded mulch.
They are located at 1828 Central Avenue in McKinleyville and are hard to miss – just look for their giant Miller’s hedge, seen at right!
Their phone number is (707)839-1571.
They’re open Monday through Saturday 830-530 in winter, and Sundays 10-4 during the growing season.

I love these purple Loropetalum with the golden splash of Aucuba and the soothing green of Heuchera or Coral Bells.

I am trying to locate someone here locally that has greenhouse kits. I can’t seem to find them on your website. Can you advise me? Thank you!
Hi Linda,
Unfortunately I don’t have the definitive answer to that. I know Miller’s has carried them in the past, and I purchased my own greenhouse kit from Harbor Freight on Guintoli, which stocks them year-round. I’d think the farm stores (3 G’s, A and L Feed, Nilson) and the big three nurseries (Miller’s, Mad River Gardens, and Pierson’s) would be likeliest to have them locally.
In all honesty, the kits that are reasonably priced are cheaply made. I’d build one or hire out the building of one and use recycled materials from the Recycling Center in Arcata – they have some cheap windows that would work well. That’s just my two cents though – I’m happy enough with my Harbor Freight one.
My advice? Build the biggest one you can afford. You won’t be sorry.
